The intention of the project is to create a new destination in Singapore able to attract visitor from all over the world and to recognise as a breaking-through experience in this competitive world of international destination.

To be a international public success, the new Singapore Oceanarium at Resorts World Sentosa should have a distinctive, and renewed visual identity seen from far, and its silhouette in the skyline of Sentosa Island should be the first signature of the new destination, followed by the entrance in the public esplanade and the queuing experience, all of which should be memorable and pleasant.

After this preliminary experiences, each step forward in the oceanarium should reinforce the wow effect of the first step inside the oceanarium — the first impression.

The design has been developed along a very clear story board, beginning with the spectacular entrance between two cliffs toward a cluster of vertical aquarium and suspended large fish and whales. The impression conveyed to the visitor is that of walking on the floor of a deep sea surrounded by marine life and underwater landscapes.
