In 2023, studioMilou has been appointed to design a fully new house while keeping the existing structure of an existing residence of the 70ies in Singapore .
While the lines and volumes of the composition remain as it was, the envelop has been entirely redesigned and reapplied to the existing structure . Additionally the organisation of the main circulations transformed by the creation of a new staircase connecting both levels along the garden facade.
The new colour and material scheme of the house is based on the alliance of a dark granite with veins and bronze metallic elements channeling the views and giving the necessary privacy between different spaces of the house.
The interior spaces are delicately refurbished using wood, off white lime stone, and natural organic colours for the wall paper. It gives the house a sense of natural simplicity which works as an enveloping and serene back group for the family life.
The overall composition remains simple, bold, and generous and complements well with the strong artistic taste of the owner of the house.
It constituted an even architectural landscape showcasing a beautiful collection of sculptures and paintings.
