Seoul Compact City international design competition architectural review
The Seoul Metropolitan Government and the Seoul Housing and Community Corporation published a very detailed architectural review of the international design competition for the Seoul Compact City, Gangil public garage project.
The members of the jury were:
Lee Sang Yun, from the Yonsei university, South Korea
Lee Jae Seung, from Seoul national university, South Korea
Lee Jong Won, from the Sungkyunkwan university, South Korea
Hwang Kee Yeon, from the Hongik university, South Korea
Bian Lanchun, from Tsinghua university, China
Charles Waldheim, from their Harvard university, USA
Thomas Schroepfer, from SUTD, Singapore
Viren Brahmbhatt, from Design studio, USA
StudioMilou was the first awarded among 77 contenders at the first stage of the competition with a radical Low rise development.
The jury finally preferred a high rise solution as developed by the winner of the competition the Korean firm SAMOO.
